The Finchville Community

Finchville is a small, historically rural community in Shelby County, Kentucky.  Up to the mid 1960s a rail spur allowed local farmers to transport produce to market.  Tobacco, dairy, and beef are the predominant agriculture products today with a visible horse industry.

We are four miles south of Shelbyville, the county seat and interstate 64 on Hwy.55.  You can get here from downtown Louisville in about 35 minutes.  We do have a post office as seen below and a flashing red light at the intersection of Hwy. 148 and Hwy 55.  For us, one light is enough.  The community is changing and many new houses have been built but we have been able to retain the rural essence.  You can still be slowed down by a tractor on the road!
