Why is belief in Christ important? The Christian
faith represents the belief that we as humans could never attain the
level that God requires but that he loved us, his children, so much that
he came down to us in the form of Jesus Christ. It was Christ, who
without sin, sacrificed himself on the cross as an atonement for our
sins. Through Jesus only are we acceptable in the eyes of God. Just
what is required to become a Christian? Read below to find out.
If you accept in your heart that:
1. Everyone
sins
2. Jesus paid
for our sins on the cross
Romans 3:22-26
22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in
Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24
and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came
by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice
of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his
justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed
beforehand unpunished- 26 he did it to demonstrate his
justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies
those who have faith in Jesus.
3. Those with
faith in Jesus will have eternal life
John 3:16-19
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does
not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the
name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the
verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead
of light because their deeds were evil.
4. We accept
salvation by believing in Jesus and professing our faith in him.
Romans 10:9-13
9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is
Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you
believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess
and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who
trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For
there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of
all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for,
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Becoming a Christian is easy and
is the only thing that is 100% pure, absolutely free and eternal! Other
than faith, nothing else is required - don't let others convince you
otherwise. God is so mighty we could never ascend up to his level
because of sin, but he loved each of us so much that he came down to us
in Jesus Christ so that we might have eternal life. Fellowship with
other Christians so that you may grow in your spiritual journey with
Christ.
